About Me

My interest in photography started in my first years of university when I bought my first camera, an Olympus 2MP compact. The camera was for general use but I found great joy in taking photos. It has its limitations so a couple of years later I received a Panasonic FZ-30 camera as a gift. It was an excellent entry level to more professional photography. The FZ-30 is not quite-an-SLR but can achieve a lot of the standard effects such as timelapses, macro shots, etc.

After a couple of years the limitations of the FZ-30 were becoming apparent so I researched my next camera. I settled on the Canon EOS 5D and purchased it in 2007. I intend to make this my main camera for the long haul. The 5D is my first proper SLR camera, but alas, I was tempted near the end of 2008 Canon released the mark 2 version of the 5D. The main improvement being the introduction of a 1080 resolution film mode. I kept all of my existing lenses and upgraded the body to the new Mk2.

My range is still limited. In September 2009 I travelled to New Zealand where I took a long tour of the country, snapping the whole way.
